Hello! I am going to talk about my blogging experience. How my blogging experience has been? It has really been a very interesting experience. I think that the most important of my experience is to have learned very much. Blog is a great tool to learn different language; I have improved the grammar, the coherence and the vocabulary when I write in English thank to the blog. In general, I have improved very much since I began to write in the blog until now. I believe that the blog is a good tool to work in anyone subject, it is dynamic, I can to be connected with other classmates and the evaluations are done quickly. This kind of evaluation was entertained to me; it was original and it promoted my creativity. Also, the topics treated were current and very interesting. One of most interesting topics to me was the Conference of Ken Robinson about the education and creativity. I think that all the subjects should to review these kinds of topics, as student of Psychology we should be informed about them to promote social changes. I think that blogging in the English class was very useful. Also, an important advantage of blogging experience is that it wasn’t the only activity of the subject; it was complemented with other activities that contribute to increase our knowledge. They were the quizzes, the presentation, the listening and the oral interaction; all of them developed our written skill and our oral skill. These skills are very important to our life and to our future job. If I want to travel around the world I need these skills. If I want to study in another country I need to know English. Also, we need to know English to work in anyone job. My experience with this subject has really been useful. I hope to continue learning very much in the next level.

Hello, today I am going to talk about my ideal job. I don’t know exactly what my ideal job would be; however, I know that I would like to work with children and teenagers. I always have wanted to help to children in social risk, who don’t have had the same opportunities than many of us. Usually, their families are disintegrated and their social context is bad. I think that through the Educational Psychology and the Social Psychology I could contribute to solve this problem. Some places to work are children’s homes, drug treatment centers, and schools. Another option is to work in Clinical Psychology helping to children and teenagers in my consult. The skills and qualities that I need are patient, creativity, charisma, imagination, empathy, tolerance; forget the prejudices, and others. I think that I have some of these skills, especially, I have good connection with children and I have creativity to play with them. I think that the most important quality is to have the motivation to help them. The main difficult that I could find is to get a job in this field, because, it isn’t a required field by the market like Labor Psychology. Also, probably I am going to have to get another job parallel because the salary in this kind of job is low.

Ken Robinson

Hello, today I am going to talk about the conference of Ken Robinson. Essentially he talks about the creativity and how the education limits it. Everyone is creative; however, the school promotes the formation of rational individuals, giving more importance to the development of the intellect than the development of the creativity. The education should have to consider other subjects different than mathematics and languages like music, art, dance, and others, that let the rational and creative development of the people. The ideas of Robinson are very connected with the state of the Chilean education, which also is focussed to form people according with the capitalism system, giving preference to the rational subjects and rational careers. The people are formed to produce to the market and the education contributes to the reproduction of the inequalities that the capitalism generates. Creativity is a very important tool because it let us be holistic people and it let us see the life from an original perspective.

Hello! Today I am going to talk about my favourite subject. We have had many interesting subjects this semester. I like all them!! But my favourite subject this semester has been Educational Psychology…it has been taught by the Miss Paulina Castro and the teacher Jesus Redondo. I like them for many reasons. First, I would like to work with children in the future and the Educational Psychology is directly in contact with them. Also, I am very interested in social problems like poverty, children in social risk, delinquency and others, which are in relation with the work of educational psychologist, especially, in the public schools. The education is a very important problem which involves everyone. In general, I have learned very much this semester. All subjects have had a practical orientation that shows us how we can apply our knowledge to the reality. Also, all these subjects are in relation with the specializations that we will have to study the next semester. It is very good!

Hello, I am going to talk about my future…Uf!! I want to do many things in my future!, but I don’t know if I will achieve to do all these things. In five years from now I hope to be working in my career. I don’t know specifically in what area, because there are many fields that I love. I like the Clinical Psychology (I would like to work doing cognitive behavioral therapies); I like the Legal Psychology (I would like to work with victims) and I like the Social Psychology (I would like to work with poor children). Also, I want to do researches in Experimental Psychology. Then, I would like to study Theatre or a specialization of my career. I hope to work in these two careers at the same time. I want to live some years in Santiago and then I hope go to live to the South of Chile, both things with my boyfriend. Ideally, in ten years from now I would like to travel to many places with my boyfriend. I would like to continue sharing with him and my family. Essentially, I hope to continue being happy everyday… 

Hello!!, who is the best in my field?... To answer this question is not difficult to me. I like the Experimental Psychology very much, for this reason I think that one of the best psychologists in my field is my teacher of Experimental Psychology: Ronald Betancourt. I don’t think that he is the best psychologist of all times or the best psychologist of Chile; however, I believe that he is a very intelligent person, the best psychologist of our University. He is a person with consistent arguments to explain the behavior, he has strong arguments to defend his field. He has done a lot of research about Classical Conditioning and Operant conditioning, especially, about Learned Helplessness and Drugs Tolerance. Actually, he teaches the subject of Experimental Psychology in our University and his students are experimenting in his laboratory. It´s very interesting! Each of his students is working with a mouse, which is learning different behaviors. In general, I think that his contributions to the Psychology are very important because they let us understand very good the human behavior.

My Career: Psychology

Why I am studying this career? Choosing this career wasn’t an easy decision…
When a finished the school I didn’t know what career to choose. I loved the theater but I couldn’t study it. Then, I began to read about Psychology because it was an option of career to study. I liked sharing with people and I felt happy when I could help somebody. I think that the emotional health is very important and I think that we always need someone that listen us. For these reasons, I think that the contribution of psychologists to society is very important because they can help people to improve their quality of life. To accomplish this aim they need to have tools such as empathy, tolerance, commitment with patients, social commitment, be able to listen to others, patience, and others tools.
My favourite subjects are the “Psychology of Learning” and “Experimental Psychology”. These are my favourite subjects because they show us how we do what we do due to our experiences. However, I think that all the Psychology is very interesting... the career is really beautiful!
