Ken Robinson

Hello, today I am going to talk about the conference of Ken Robinson. Essentially he talks about the creativity and how the education limits it. Everyone is creative; however, the school promotes the formation of rational individuals, giving more importance to the development of the intellect than the development of the creativity. The education should have to consider other subjects different than mathematics and languages like music, art, dance, and others, that let the rational and creative development of the people. The ideas of Robinson are very connected with the state of the Chilean education, which also is focussed to form people according with the capitalism system, giving preference to the rational subjects and rational careers. The people are formed to produce to the market and the education contributes to the reproduction of the inequalities that the capitalism generates. Creativity is a very important tool because it let us be holistic people and it let us see the life from an original perspective.
